Advanced Open Water Diver vs Advanced Adventurer Diver

Compered to the SSI Advanced Open Water Diver Course is the SSI Advanced Adventurer Course is a truly practical orientated training program, which does not require you to study for an exam and can be completed here in Phuket in just 3 days. You have a wide range of Advanced Adventure dives to choose from like Deep Diving, Night Diving, Wreck Diving and Navigation to name just a few. This certification is equivalent to the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver. Furthermore these dives are credited towards future SSI Specialty Diver courses, and vice versa. We recommend to get your Advanced Open Water Diver rating with SSI specialty courses because you profit from more in-depth background knowledge and extensive diving experience.

The easiest way is the SSI Advanced Adventurer course (equivalent to the PADI AOWD). There you will do 5 adventure dives like such as: Deep, Navigation, Drift, Wreck, Buoyancy or Photography.

The more extensive training is the SSI Advanced Open Water Diver program. Each specialty course (except Nitrox) includes 2 to 3 dives and the academics can be completed in advance with e-learning. You will receive a certification card for each specialty course and once you have completed 24 logged dives you will receive the SSI Advanced Open Water Diver recognition card.
