About the PADI Rescue Diver course
Rescue Diver shifts the focus from yourself to the divers around you. You learn to spot and prevent problems before they escalate, manage stress in other divers, and handle emergencies from self-rescue through to unresponsive-diver scenarios.
Through practical exercises and rescue scenarios, you'll learn how to respond to tired or panicked divers, search for missing divers and assist an unresponsive diver — while always considering your own safety.
This is one of the more demanding PADI courses, but also one of the most rewarding.
Before you start
- You need an Advanced Open Water Diver certification, or Adventure Diver including the Navigation Adventure Dive.
- You also need First Aid and CPR training completed within the previous 24 months. If you don't already have this, you can complete your Emergency First Response training with us.
- You’ll also need to complete the standard Diver Medical Form. Please read it carefully — answering “Yes” to certain questions requires a doctor’s approval before you can dive.
- You cannot fly for at least 18 hours after scuba diving, so please keep this in mind when planning your trip.
