About the EFR Primary & Secondary Care Course
Emergency First Response is a general first aid and CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) course, so no diving experience is required. It also satisfies the first aid prerequisite for the PADI Rescue Diver course.
Primary Care (CPR) focuses on life-threatening emergencies, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the use of an AED (automated external defibrillator), as well as serious bleeding, shock and suspected spinal injuries.
Secondary Care (First Aid) covers injuries and illnesses that are not immediately life-threatening, including assessment, bandaging and splinting when professional medical care is delayed.
The course is practical and hands-on, giving you the opportunity to practise the skills rather than simply learn the theory.
