About our dive day

Two dives, one unhurried day

Join us aboard MV Matchanu for two dives around Phuket. We don’t run a fixed weekly dive-site schedule. Instead, we choose where to dive according to the weather, sea conditions and the experience and interests of the divers on board.

Depending on the day, that might take us to Shark Point, Anemone Reef, King Cruiser Wreck, Racha Yai, Racha Noi or one of the smaller sites in between like Koh Doc Mai, Koh Mai Thon, Green Island.

Before each dive, your guide will brief you on the site, conditions and what you might see. We don’t set a fixed dive-time limit — your air consumption, conditions and safe diving limits determine when the dive ends. Between dives, there’s a generous surface interval, with plenty of time for lunch, fresh fruit, a hot drink and simply relaxing on the boat.

Staying a little longer?

You don’t have to dive on consecutive days. Our multi-day packages offer better rates than booking individual dive days, and you can spread your dives across your holiday.

Planning ahead helps

We only take a maximum of 10 diving guests, so the boat can fill up quickly during Phuket’s busy dry season. If you already know when you’d like to dive, it’s worth booking your days early.

Sun protection

Rash guards and other UV-protective clothing are the best choice for a day on the water — they protect you from the tropical sun while reducing the amount of sunscreen entering the sea.

If you use sunscreen aboard MV Matchanu, please bring a mineral sunscreen containing only non-nano zinc oxide and/or non-nano titanium dioxide as its UV filters. Other sunscreens are not permitted on board. Don’t have one? Suitable mineral sunscreen is available to purchase on board.
