About the PADI AWARE Dive Against Debris Course
Dive Against Debris turns an underwater clean-up into citizen science. You'll learn how to safely remove marine debris, what should be left where it is, and how to sort, record and report what you find.
After the dive, your survey data is submitted to the PADI AWARE global database, helping researchers and policymakers better understand and tackle the problem of marine debris.
The specialty requires just one survey dive — but once you know how it works, you can make any future dive a Dive Against Debris survey.
Before you start
You need to be a Junior Open Water Diver or equivalent and at least 10 years old.

Why dive with Aloha Diving
Better divers
We don’t teach to the minimum requirements. We build skills, good habits and confidence at each diver’s pace, with very small classes and an emphasis on safety, control and respect for the reef.
Safety first
Safety is non-negotiable. Experienced professionals, well-maintained equipment and boat, proper safety equipment, and recognised diving and local standards guide every dive.
Diving with a lighter footprint
Green Fins standards are part of how we dive. We support Oceans For All and take part in reef clean-ups, marine-life monitoring and other conservation activities.
