Scuba Skills Update in Phuket
It’s quick and easy, and a good way to prepare for your next SSI course or get ready for a diving vacation. The best part is, divers who complete both the knowledge and in-water skill refresher receive a replacement certification card with a Scuba Skills Update date on it.
Your Scuba Diving certification does not expire. Participation in a SSI Scuba Skills Update is not mandatory, but recommended as an easy way to refresh your foundational scuba safety knowledge and skills if you haven’t been diving in a while.
H as it been a while since you’ve been scuba diving? Do you feel like your scuba skills and knowledge are a bit rusty? The Scuba Review Tune-up is just the refresher you need. It reacquaints you with diving so that you’re back to feeling comfortable in the underwater world in less than a day.
What You Learn
You go over scuba knowledge you learned during your initial training. Then, practice fundamental skills in a pool or a confined water area. You review:
Safe diving practices
Dive planning fundamentals
Breathing air at depth
Recreational diving and dive tables: basic knowledge
Recreational diving and dive tables: dive planning
After you complete the knowledge assessment, you go through the confined water skills preview. You review information about each skill, why it’s important, points to remember when performing the skill and a short video clip. Completing this section just before practicing is a great way to refresh your knowledge of how each skill is performed.
We are asked this question quite often. Almost everyone is going to be fit to dive, but some medical conditions can cause problems underwater so it is important to make sure that you know if you are medically fit to dive. When you participate at a Scuba Skills Update program, you are required to complete a medical statement to declare yourself fit to dive. This statement lists medical conditions that may be affected by diving so be sure to answer completely and honestly – it’s for your own safety.
Fantastic experience, couldn't recommend more. Three of us signed up for the Open Water Diver course, 2 beach dives and 2 boat dives. We were lucky to have a super relaxed instructor and another trainee instructor to ourselves, which particularly helped ease me when I had a mini panic attack on first entry in the beach dive. The equipment seemed state of the art, from the deep container pool at the training centre to the wetsuits, regulators, diving computers etc. And we got amazing photos in the mix! Seriously above and beyond what other diving centers appear to offer, and a really high bar to beat for our future dives!read more

I just did 2 day trips with Aloha Diving and it was simply perfect. Thank you! To be more precise: The communication with Alice and Simon (owner of Aloha Diving) prior to the dives was easy and both were very responsive. During the day trips, which they do in corporation with another company, everything was well organized, they have good rental equipment and most important safety matters for them! To conclude: I can highly recommend Aloha Diving.read more
