Local Dive Sites

Undoubtedly, the best way to dive in Phuket is to make a day trip with a spacious and comfortable diving boat. The spectacular dive sites around Phuket are namely a little further away and boats therefore must travel greater distances. For this you will be rewarded with world-class diving! Nevertheless, it is good to have a reasonable alternative to the full-day diving trips. Because in Phuket, resp. Rawai there are also on land to discover a lot of exciting things. It often happens that not all partners / family members dive or enjoy a boat ride. Therefore, we offer between October to May (because only then the conditions allows) Half-day Diving Trips, with a classical, thai Longtail Boat starting from Rawai Beach. Weather and tide dependent, we can go out during certain times of the day to the near by islands like Buddha Islands and Potato Island. These dive sites are still untouched, since large dive boats don’t go there. The reefs consist of large boulders, which are overgrown with intact hard and vibrant soft corals. At depths between 0-30 meters there is diverse marine life with sometimes limited visibility and strong current. After a short cruise along the stunning coast line, we make two dives with the prescribed surface interval between the dives. This Half-Day Diving Trips are also ideal for scuba diving courses. Not only for scuba divers, but also for free divers we organize this half-day boat trips. We take over the supervision on the surface and provide a suitable surface buoyancy device and descent line as well as safety equipment.

Trip Itinerary

  • Meeting Point is at our Dive Center
  • After equipment assembling we drive to the beach (3min) and board the Long Tail Boat
  • Travel with the boat for about 20 min. to the fist dive site
  • First dive will be close to slack tide for 50 min.
  • The surface interval we spend at a deserted beach. A snack and drinking water will be served
  • Second dive will be at slack tide (should be no current)
  • On the way back to Phuket we cruise along the coast line
  • The total trip duration is approx. 4 hours

The Long Tail Boat

The long-tail boat, known as Ruea Hang Yao (เรือหางยาว) in the Thai language, is a type of watercraft native to Southeast Asia. The Longtail boats are in Thai hand and operate off Rawai Beach.

Each diving group is kept to a ratio of maximum 3 divers : 1 Dive Guide ensures your safety at all times and showed you the hidden gems of the Andamansea. Boat and dive site briefings are given during your day trip. Unlike others we store, wash and transfer your privately owned equipment. Just jump on board and relax.

Travel “Thai style”

Up to 8 m long, up to 4 divers, sun umbrella, cooling box for drinks and fruits and a ladder for diving designed by Aloha Diving

Scuba Diving Equipment

If you have your own equipment – great, bring it with you for the dive trip. After diving, we wash, dry and store it for you at our dive center. When you go diving again, we will pack it for you and deliver it to the boat.

If you need to rent scuba diving equipment, either a full set or partial, please let us know when you book your diving excursion. Available equipment and prices, you can find on our price list.

We also have spare equipment on board like wetsuits, fins, masks, regulators and BCD’s ensuring that a malfunctioning piece of equipment won’t ruin your day!

We believe you always should dive with good quality scuba gear, even if you don’t buy your own. You deserve the best state-of-the-art equipment, so we’ve got it! We work hard to keep our rental equipment in top condition. We have a strict maintenance schedule for the overhaul of our regulators and BCD’s. Our rental wetsuits are replaced regularly.

We will gladly explain the functions of any of our dive equipment and repair or replace any piece of your own equipment if requested. We want your dives to be fun, safe and free from equipment issues.

Non divers, snorkelers and freedivers are welcome to join the diving boat.

Fantastic experience, couldn't recommend more. Three of us signed up for the Open Water Diver course, 2 beach dives and 2 boat dives. We were lucky to have a super relaxed instructor and another trainee instructor to ourselves, which particularly helped ease me when I had a mini panic attack on first entry in the beach dive. The equipment seemed state of the art, from the deep container pool at the training centre to the wetsuits, regulators, diving computers etc. And we got amazing photos in the mix! Seriously above and beyond what other diving centers appear to offer, and a really high bar to beat for our future dives!read more

I just did 2 day trips with Aloha Diving and it was simply perfect. Thank you! To be more precise: The communication with Alice and Simon (owner of Aloha Diving) prior to the dives was easy and both were very responsive. During the day trips, which they do in corporation with another company, everything was well organized, they have good rental equipment and most important safety matters for them! To conclude: I can highly recommend Aloha more
